01 · Payment Processing Agreement
Updated October 21, 2026- 01
Who this agreement is between
This Payment Processing Agreement (the "Agreement") is between LVL2 LLC (which operates CREW.INK) (the "Platform", "CREW.INK", "we") and the artist, studio owner or business that sets up payouts on CREW.INK to accept payments (the "Merchant", "you").
It forms part of the Owner and Artist Terms. You accept it during payout setup, and it takes effect when you do.
- 02
The Processing Services
In addition to its booking and studio software, Platform offers embedded payment processing services, which include credit card, debit card, digital wallet (such as Apple Pay and Google Pay), ACH bank payment and other payment processing services, as may be offered from time to time (collectively, the "Processing Services"). The Processing Services let your clients pay you deposits, balances, full payments and walk-in payments, and let you refund them.
- 03
Who does what
- CREW.INK (Platform) provides the software, the payout setup screens, the checkout your clients see, payment and payout reporting, and support. CREW.INK is your first contact for any question about a payment. CREW.INK is not a bank and does not hold your funds.
- Rainforest Pay, Inc. ("Rainforest") is the payment processor. Rainforest reviews and approves Merchant applications, processes payments, sends funds to your bank account, monitors transactions for fraud and risk, and prepares tax forms.
- Rainforest's sponsor bank is the bank that is a member of the card networks and settles card payments. The current sponsor banks are listed by Rainforest.
- The card networks (such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover) and your clients' card issuers set the rules for card payments and chargebacks.
- You (Merchant) are the seller of your services to your clients. You are responsible for those services, your prices, your refund and cancellation policy, and your taxes.

Your clients' card statements show your business name. It may begin with a short processor prefix.
- 04
Processing Terms and Conditions
By using the Processing Services, Merchant agrees to the Processing Terms and Conditions available at https://legal.rainforestpay.com/processingterms, which may be amended at any time on notice.
The Processing Terms and Conditions are Rainforest's terms and refer to this document as the "Payment Processing Agreement". You must accept both to use the Processing Services. If this Agreement and the Processing Terms and Conditions conflict about payment processing, the Processing Terms and Conditions control.
By accepting these Terms, Merchant also agrees to the Google Pay API Terms of Service, available at https://payments.developers.google.com/terms/sellertos, and the Google Pay and Wallet APIs Acceptable Use Policy, available at https://payments.developers.google.com/terms/aup.
- 05
Who can use the Processing Services
- The Processing Services are available only to Merchants based in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. US territories, such as Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin Islands, are not supported.
- You need a US bank account in your own or your business's name and a valid US taxpayer identification number (SSN or EIN).
- You must be at least 18, and you must give accurate information about yourself, your business and its owners so they can be verified. Rainforest may ask for more information or documents.
- Rainforest may approve, delay or decline any application, for any reason.
- 06
Fees
Related to the Processing Services, Platform will charge Merchant according to the fees listed below (the "Processing Fees"). All Processing Fees payable under this Agreement are exclusive of taxes.
Plan Booking fee per client payment Minimum fee Plan price Free 9.9% $2.50 $0 / month Plus 4.5% $2.50 $39 / month Pro 3.5% $2.50 $99 / month - The booking fee applies to each payment a client makes for tattoo work through the Processing Services: deposits, balances, full payments and walk-in payments.
- The booking fee covers card processing. CREW.INK charges no separate processing fee, surcharge, per-transaction fee, refund fee, payout fee or monthly processing fee.
- Minimum: when the percentage comes to less than $2.50, the booking fee is $2.50.
- Who pays: by default the client pays the booking fee on top of your price, and it is shown to them before they pay. In Settings, under Payments, you can instead cover the fee yourself, in which case it is taken from the payment before it is paid out to you, or split it 50/50 with the client. Your choice applies to payments made after you change it.
- Tips are never charged a booking fee. 100% of a tip is paid to you.
- Merch store: for print-on-demand items CREW.INK makes and ships for you, CREW.INK keeps 30% (Free), 20% (Plus) or 10% (Pro) of each item's profit after production and shipping. No booking fee applies to merch.
- Chargebacks: a $15 fee applies to each chargeback, dispute or ACH return on your payments, whether or not the dispute is later won, unless a CREW.INK program you qualify for says otherwise in writing.
- The plan price is your subscription, billed under the Owner and Artist Terms. Current prices are always on the pricing page.
- If you have a separate written pricing agreement with CREW.INK, it controls over this table for the fees it covers.
- We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app before any Processing Fee increases.

Payouts
- Card and digital wallet payments are usually deposited to your bank account one business day after the payment is processed. ACH bank payments are usually deposited four business days after.
- Deposits are sent each US banking day when funds are available. Payments processed on a weekend or bank holiday are deposited together on the next banking day.
- Each deposit is the total of your payments, less any booking fee you cover, refunds, chargebacks and their fees.
- These times are typical, not guaranteed. Banks can take longer, and a payment or payout can be held for review as described below.
- Payouts go only to a bank account in your own or your business's name. Changing it may require extra verification.
- 08
Refunds
- You set your refund and cancellation policy and must show it to clients before they pay. CREW.INK shows it on your booking pages.
- You issue refunds through CREW.INK. A refund comes out of your incoming payments; if they are not enough, the amount may be debited from your bank account.
- The booking fee follows CREW.INK's Refund Policy: it is refunded in full to whoever paid it when a booking is cancelled before the appointment or never happens because of a CREW.INK error, even if you keep the deposit under your policy. It is not refunded once the session has taken place.
- Card payments that are still processing can only be cancelled in full. ACH payments cannot be refunded until four business days after they were made.
- 09
Chargebacks and disputes
A chargeback happens when a client asks their card issuer to reverse a payment. You are responsible for chargebacks on your payments: the disputed amount and the $15 chargeback fee, unless a CREW.INK program you qualify for says otherwise in writing.
- When a chargeback opens, the disputed amount and fee may be taken from your incoming payments or debited from your bank account. If the dispute is decided in your favour, the disputed amount is returned to you.
- CREW.INK will tell you and help you respond with the booking record: the quote, your policy, messages, signed forms and receipts. Respond by the deadline we give you, or the dispute may be lost.
- The booking fee is not refunded on a chargeback.
- A high rate of chargebacks or fraud can lead to holds, reserves or suspension.
- 10
Holds, reserves and suspension
To manage risk and follow the law and card-network rules, Rainforest may, at its discretion, limit the size or type of payments you can take, limit your processing volume, hold payments or payouts for review, keep part of your funds in reserve, or suspend or end your Processing Services. This can happen if you or a payment breaks this Agreement, the Processing Terms and Conditions, the law or network rules; if your activity creates unusual financial or reputational risk; or if a card network or sponsor bank requires it.
Some of these actions happen in real time and without advance notice. CREW.INK may also pause your Processing Services if you break the Owner and Artist Terms. We will tell you what we can, as soon as we can, and what you can do to fix it.
- 11
Data sharing and export
- You authorize CREW.INK to share your merchant data and payment method data with Rainforest, its sponsor banks, the card networks and their service providers to provide the Processing Services, verify identity, prevent fraud, manage risk and comply with law. Merchant data includes your business and owner details, bank account, transactions, refunds and chargebacks.
- You authorize Rainforest to share that data with CREW.INK, and you agree that merchant data and payment method data may be exported to CREW.INK or CREW.INK's designee at any time, including to move your account to another payment processor.
- Rainforest may contact you directly about operations, risk or compliance.
- Card numbers are entered into Rainforest's secure payment fields. CREW.INK does not store full card numbers.
- Our Privacy Policy explains the rest of how we handle data.
Read the Privacy Policy:
- 12
Taxes and Form 1099-K
- You are responsible for taxes on your sales and income.
- Federal law requires payment platforms to report merchants' payments to the IRS on Form 1099-K. Rainforest prepares and files Form 1099-K on CREW.INK's behalf. Your form lists LVL2 LLC as the filer and Rainforest as the payment settlement entity, and its account number is your merchant ID.
- The form reports gross payments for the year, before refunds, fees and other adjustments.
- Give us your correct legal name and taxpayer identification number. If they are missing or wrong, the IRS can require backup withholding from your payouts.
- 13
Your responsibilities
- Take payments only for your own genuine tattoo work and related sales, never for someone else's business.
- Do not divide payments to evade fees or payment rules, enter a price as a tip, or take payments for anything unlawful or that the card networks prohibit. Legitimate deposits, balances and installments are allowed.
- Keep your business, owner and bank information up to date, and tell us about a change of ownership.
- Keep your sign-in secure. Tell us at once if you suspect someone else has access to your account or payouts.
- 14
Term and termination
This Agreement starts when you accept it and continues until you or we end it. You can end it by turning off payouts or closing your account. We may end it on notice, and Rainforest may end your Processing Services under the Processing Terms and Conditions. Refunds, chargebacks and fees on payments made before the end remain your responsibility afterwards, because chargebacks can arrive months after a payment.
- 15
Changes
We may update this Agreement. We will tell you about material changes, and fee increases at least 30 days ahead, by email or in the app. Rainforest may amend the Processing Terms and Conditions at any time on notice. Continuing to use the Processing Services after a change takes effect means you accept it.
- 16
Liability, law and language
The limits on liability and the governing law in the Owner and Artist Terms apply to this Agreement: the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States. Payment processing itself is also governed by the Processing Terms and Conditions. This Agreement is written in English; translations are for convenience, and the English version controls if they differ.
